Challenged
The hunt will be held on Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st.
Rack & Beard Hunting club is located in Monroe County, Alabama on 800 acres.
This will be our 7th year of hosting a disabled hunt and this event has become
the focus of our hunting club each year.

Our 5th Annual Rack & Beard Disabled Hunt is offered to
all the disabled hunters with BADF. Our hunt will be on Friday December 1st and
Saturday December 2nd. We would like to host 8 disabled hunters this year.
We have joined up with another landowner so that we can entertain more
hunters. The hunt will begin on Friday afternoon and end after the Saturday
afternoon hunt and evening meal. We hunt on 800 acres in Monroe County Alabama
and have a good many deer despite being damaged by Hurricane Ivan 2 years ago.
The hunt is free, but hunters will be responsible for obtaining a valid Alabama
hunting license and their own hotel accommodations. We will do our best to get
them a discounted hotel rate at one of the local hotels. All meals will be
provided. There is a 6 point or better rule. Our land partner has 400 acres
and limited over night accommodations. He hosted several hunters last year and
is gracious enough to do it again this year.
Those interested in hunting with us should reply to this email as soon as
possible. The deadline for submitting a name will be Friday October 27th at
noon central time. After all names are submitted, there will be a random
drawing of names and the persons drawn will be notified by email. More
information about our hunt will be given to those chosen at that time, and they
will be notified. We are looking forward to December 1st, good luck and God
bless. Thanking you in advance.

As you know, not all hunts that we help promote are free.
We try and let you know of good opportunities with outfitters willing and
wanting to take challenged hunters. I thought that the notice below would be a
great opportunity for someone that could go on a pay hunt to experience hunting
a piece of prime property that has not been hunted in over 50 years. If you
can't go maybe you have a friend or family member that would be interested?
These hunts are for anyone and will go fast. This outfitter is already working
with challenged hunters.
An outfitter friend of mine ours in and around Adams
County, IL called yesterday to let me know that he just obtained some property,
all timber, that has not been hunted in 55 years. He was able to work it so
that he has tags for hunts on the property for bow, shotgun and muzzle loader.
These hunts are for anyone, disabled or not.
Sounds like a really good opportunity to take a nice buck! He is getting $3,000
for a 5 day bow hunt (from now till the end of season), $4,000 for shotgun and
$3,000 for muzzle loader. Tag, lodging meals and guided hunt are all included
in the price. You have to shoot a minimum of a 140 inch deer.
He runs a Christian based business and has a good reputation with the people who
have hunted with him. Let me know if you or anyone you know has an interest and
I can get you more details. I imagine they will go fairly quickly. Just
thought I would let you know.
Respectfully,
David Sullivan

IL Bowhunt
A private land owner would like to host a disabled hunter
to a bow hunt on his 80 acre farm in Edwards County, IL. Dates of the hunt
would be November 3rd and 4th. This sounds like a wonderful opportunity to take
a nice deer with a bow (crossbows permitted with proper permit from IL) but as
always, there are no guarantees. One deer of either sex may be harvested.
Lodging and meals will be provided at the landowner's home if accessible to the
hunter. Several hotels are available locally but would be at the expense of the
hunter. All travel and license costs are the responsibility of the hunter. One
companion may accompany the hunter but as a companion, not hunter.
Licenses are currently available over the counter as stated below:.
License Requirements:
Resident Archery Dates and Fees - Combo tags (Either-Sex and Antlerless-Only) -
Over-the-Counter late August, 2007
Non-Resident Archery Dates and Fees :

antlerless only) archery deer permits that will be sold on a first come, first
serve basis beginning August 6th at 8:00 CST to those that did not previously
apply. You can purchase your permit via the internet. DNR Direct Online License
Sales or by phone at 1-888-6PERMIT (1-888-673-7648)
Non-residents are allowed one combination archery permit per season. Antlerless
only permits for $15.50 will be available throughout the season over the counter
at local license agents, by phone or by internet. If ordering by phone or
internet, your permit will be mailed to you.
The cost of a Non-Resident Archery Combination Deer permit (one either-sex/one
antlerless) will be $366.00. The quota will be 20,000 for Non-Resident
combination tags.
The cost of a Non-Resident Archery Antlerless Deer permit (available over the
counter) will be $15.50 and there is no quota.

to purchase either a 5-Day (28.75) OR Annual (50.75) Hunting License AND a

12th Annual Deer Hunt Call for Applications
Options and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service in collaboration with
the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is pleased to announce that
applications for the 12th annual deer hunt for people with disabilities to be
held at Rydell National Wildlife Refuge are ready to be released. The dates of
the hunt will be October 11, 12, and 13. This years hunt will be open for buck
or doe.
Rydell National Game Refuge offers hunters with disabilities a unique experience
by providing hunters the opportunity to hunt in one of the most accessible
wildlife refuges in the Nation. Rydell has miles of paved trails in addition to
hard-packed trails. It is large enough to accommodate up to 20 hunters, having
enough land so that risks associated with deer hunting are minimized. The
refuge has all terrain vehicles with accessible trailers so that if a hunter
chooses they can be driven out to their stands. The refuge also has some
accessible hunting platforms available.
Hunters are responsible for travel to and from the refuge, their sleeping
accommodations while at the hunt, purchasing their license, and providing for
their personal needs such as warm clothes, guns, ammo, attendants, etc. Hunt
organizers will assist hunters with getting from the refuge headquarters to and
from their hunting site, providing volunteers to assist with the handling of the
animal after it is shot (if requested), and meals. Meals will consist of a noon
meal prior to hunting and an evening meal once the hunter has come back from
hunting. If more applications are received than spots available applicants will
be selected based on severity of disability, hunting experience as a person with
a disability, hunting experience at Rydell Refuge. If all is equal a random
drawing will take place.
Anyone interested in applying for this years hunt please contact Options for a
hunting application. Call (800) 726-3692. Applications must be postmarked by
September 15, 2006. For those persons chosen the Refuge will be open for
scouting and choosing a blind location on Sept 30, 2007. Questions can be

Minnesota Broken Wing Free Disabled Pheasant Hunt in Pine River, MN
The event sponsored by the Minnesota
Broken Wing Connection is a hunt of upland birds, an activity normally
limiting due to the terrain involved, the distances traveled, and pace
required to keep in step with a hunting dog. The Minnesota Broken Wing
Pheasant Hunt Invitational, an annual event held in September, is a weekend
filled with pheasant hunting, trap shooting, archery, and demonstrations
with hopes of installing the motto "Never Say Uncle".
Applications are accepted from across the United States and Canada, with a
lottery style drawing for twenty participants held in the preceding June.
Twelve applicants are chosen from the state of Minnesota, with an additional
eight from across the United States. To qualify for the event, the applicant
must show a physical condition that limits their ability to hunt pheasants.
Past hunter limitations have included quadriplegia, paraplegia, amputees,
paralysis, blindness, motor skill deficiencies, and various heart and lung
conditions. Past hunters have been male or female with ages ranging from 13
to 81 years of age.
All costs for lodging, meals, and the event are covered by the organization
for the hunter and one companion. The only cost to the hunter and companion
is their transportation to Pine River, Minnesota. The event starts on Friday
with check-in and runs through Sunday around noon.

“BUDDY
HUNTS” Offered in Texas
Our Buddy Hunts” program for disabled hunters work like this: When
an able-bodied hunter purchases a Basic Plus (or higher) hunting package for
whitetail deer, turkey, or our other hunts, he may bring along a disabled
hunter, who will receive AT NO COST WHATSOEVER the benefits of a Basic hunt
package for the same species (including add-on species) as selected by the
able-bodied hunter, for the same hunt dates as selected by the able-bodied
hunter. The able-bodied hunter is responsible to provide hunting
assistance for the disabled hunter, but they need not hunt in the same
locations, or even at the same time of day. Buffalo Mountain Ranch is a
handicapped-friendly facility. We have plenty of ground blinds suited to
handicapped hunters, and we are willing to make changes necessary to make things
work. Sorry, Buddy Hunts do not apply to bison hunts. We are located upon

We would like to hold a three day BLACK POWDER RIFLE hunt
for 8 hunters on November 12,13,and 14 (DURING THE RUT). Guests will arrive on

like to see the spikes and four pointers walk but if selected hunters want to
take one it is not a problem. We are not able to furnish room and board for the
hunters and guests at this time, but hotels are available at the hunter’s
expense.
All guests will be responsible for obtaining all required licenses. We will
